There are 32 photos in the picture gallery of all sorts of different, some ridiculous, record attempts, also some that did make a new record. I have picked out 4 very “tame” pictures. In the picture gallery there is a picture of the world’s most pierced women, a guy that put 2 brown tree snakes through his nose and mouth, and the list goes on. Well worth the look at all these photos, some I’m sure you will laugh at; others will just leave you wondering.

Also the things people can come up with to get into the world records is just astonishing, you really have to laugh at some of them.

Did you see the photo of the 2 snakes up the nose, and coming out of his mouth? It’s the 17th picture in the gallery, very strange indeed.
I am trying to find the photo of my friend Angela Pavone, who tried to claim the record for carrying the most cups of coffee (19!) without a tray. The Guinness Book of Records disallowed her claim, saying that a) They only concentrated on serious records nowadays and b) It wasn’t witnessed by one of their ‘official observers’ (although it was witnessed by a policeman, a magistrate, a church minister and three retired military officers … apparently, our word wasn’t good enough!)

That doesn’t sound fair at all. You would think all those people would of been enough.
What an achievement though 19 cups that’s fantastic, still everyone knows that she did it and she should still feel very proud at what she accomplished. I still don’t think it was right of them to refuse her though.
Well, Angela did get her picture in the paper, and generated quite a bit of custom for the coffee shop, which I think was the main object of the exercise.
Good on her, I’m happy to hear the paper got behind her at least.

I love the colorful elephant art – it looks just as pleasing to the eye as the much of the artwork created by humans.
