You can Now Have a Beer in Space:- Australia (Video Included)

As most people know beer of course is not allowed on space flights, although awhile ago (2001) NASA had the  Astronauts on the Space shuttle conduct an experiment, and brewed a small amount of beer in space ( only for experimental purposes of course 🙂 )  But in the near future when space tourism starts, a company here in Australia thought it would be nice for the tourists to have a beer in space. Saber Astronautics and 4 – Pines Brewing Company got together to do just that.

About the Beer :- Read about it at Vostok.

WHEN you’ve paid $200,000 for a seat on a galactic flight, the last thing you want is to be served a dud beer.
But space tourists of the future fear not: a series of experiments have been conducted to test whether your coldie tastes as good in space as it does on Earth. Read the full story in the Coolum News.

Science is so amazing – there is no limit it man’s curiosity and inventiveness!

I reckon it would be great to go on a space flight, my only problem would be to find someone who would buy me a ticket. 🙂

I’d think the beer would need to be pretty flat to drink in zero-gee conditions, otherwise it would be all over the capsule. And, around here, the barman who serves flat beer is likely to get lynched! 😀

      Hi travelrat,
They say that the tongue swells a bit in space, so everything tastes a bit different, I don’t know I think to get an answer you would have to go into space and give it a go. 🙂

We could make a competition out of it. Which 6 beers would you take into space with you? My picks:

    ‘Lancaster Bomber’
    Carlsberg Special Brew
    Cooper’s Stout
    Leffe Brun
Vulkan Dunkel (and if you can’t say that properly, you’ve had too much :D)

A pretty international selection, don’t you think?

If they’re looking for someone for a test-run, I’ll give it a go (all expenses paid of course)! I’ll even bring along one of my home brews for a taste test.

I once heard that one drink in the air is equal to two on ground… if that’s at 40, 000 feet, I dread to see how people react in space!

  7. Selma says:

That is actually really amazing but also very funny. Trust an Aussie to think of it!

      Hi Selma,
When I first read the story I thought exactly the same thing, but it’s great how the company’s got together to get this up and running.
