A plane passenger manages to capture image and video of the space shuttle Endeavour on its way to the space station. What a sight that must have been for everyone on the plane, the Captain did make an announcement that the passengers may be able to see it. What a once in a lifetime sight, and I’m sure for all those passengers on that flight, it would have been something that will never be forgotten.
There is a story about this in the Herald Sun.
Here is her blog where she talks about how this happened. I think this is the link, but have had some problems with it this morning. http://www.notyourtypicalgirl.wordpress.com
Hi chlost,
Isn’t it the most amazing thing, I can only imagine the excitement on that plane when they saw it.
Thank You for visiting and your link.
Great piece of video … pity they couldn’t get closer, but it would be illegal and dangerous to do so.
Hi travelrat,
It was a very good video, and well caught, yes it would of been a very dangerous, but what a thrill it must of been.
I just returned from Florida, and while there had a conversation with someone about flying over the launch site. We assumed all commercial flights would either be delayed or diverted when there’s a shuttle launch. The photos and video are amazing, but it’s also a little unsettling to see how close these two aircraft were.
Hi bronxboy55,
That is exactly what you would assume, that planes would be nowhere new the shuttle lift off, and they do look close.
Wow what a thrilling experience to see something like that out the little airplane window!
Hi dearrosie,
I agree, a once in a lifetime experience.
