Would certainly be fascinating to visit. They always seem to build enormous hotels there … maybe they get a lot of tourists?!

Why does this conjure up visions of Captain Nemo playing the ‘Toccata ad Fugue’ on his organ? 😀

  4. I’ve had the luxury of visiting Dubai and was anything but impressed.Tall and amazing buildings yes, but such a lack of culture. The place is way overbuilt and fake and I felt like I was at Disney World’s EPCOT center. It’s a venue entirely made for the designer architect to showcase his/her wild design. There are buildings shaped like every imaginable thing so bizarre you can’t distinguish one building from another. I love architecture but once they are put next to every other crazy thing in Dubai, each one is significantly diminished.

I lived in Qatar for a while. I hope the construction of these underwater places is of better quality than some of the other buildings that went up while I was there….

Who would have suspected the Arab nations would pop out of the desert and bring us outer space? 😀
