Stylewars 2011:-Australian Snowboarding (Video’s)

Stylewars was initially launched by riders for riders with the aim of changing the snowboarding event landscape in Australia. This year, riders were throwing down as many tricks as they could at the 10th anniversary of this unique event at Falls Creek Victoria.
On finals day at Stylewars, Norweigan Tor Lundstrom takes the title of Stylewars Grandmaster 2011, followed by Aussies Scotty James and Clint Allan.

Amazing athletes – all of them! They make it look so easy but it must take hours and hours of practice!

Hey Mags – did that last guy just about lose his trousers?! 😀

In the winter of 1955, my friend and I found a child’s toboggan in the garage of a house he’d just moved into. It was too small for us to sit or lie on, so we rode it down a snowy slope like a surfboard. And, we often wonder … were Marc and I the world’s first snowboarders?

(And, a bit of trivia for you … did you know Norwegian miners were ski-ing at Kiandra, in the Snowy Mountains before Switzerland ever saw a ski? )

      Hi travelrat,
You and your friend just may have been the first, pity you were too young to think others may like this and start building and selling them. 🙂
I didn’t know that about the Norwegian miners, that is very interesting to think they skied on the Snowy’s first.
