“No Touch” Touch Screen: Leap Motion (Video)

From You Tube:
Say goodbye to your mouse.
Leap represents an entirely new way to interact with your computers. It’s more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touchscreen. For the first time, you can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.

OK so this is not good for a gadget junkie like me. I gotta get me one of these immediately. LOL! That is the coolest thing ever. πŸ˜€

  2. WOW – That was amazing! The technological leaps and bounds we’ve made in just the last decade are astounding! Mind boggling when you think about it…

  3. gitwizard says:

    Help!!! I can’t keep up!

  4. travelrat says:

I’m just thinking … would you lose a morning’s work by scratching your nose or something?

  5. niasunset says:

WOW! This is amazing… Thank you dear Mags, love, nia

  6. robincoyle says:

What will they think of next?

  7. zannyro says:

    OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi zannyro,
Yes I had nearly the same reaction, just incredible. πŸ™‚

      • zannyro says:

Before you know it…all we’ll have to do is “think” about the action that we want to complete and it will be done…almost kind of scary!

      • zannyro says:

Before you know it…all we’ll have to do is “think” about the action that we want to complete and it will be done…almost kind of scary! Still improving health wise?

        • magsx2 says:

          Hi Zannyro,
Yes who knows what will be happening in the future, and what sort of computers future generations be using, I have a feeling the will be totally different to what we are used to now.

  8. Colline says:

Wow! What will they think of next. And here I am thinking of all the possibilities for teaching children.

  9. barb19 says:

Technology just gets better and better, this is amazing! What next, I wonder? There seems to be no limit to what we can achieve.

  10. No wonder WordPress is snarling at me about not being able to update Windows XP on Internet Explorer. They want me to change Browsers. Who’s paying?

Soon, we’ll be able to just think of something and it will appear in the air. Just imagine if all of our fleeting thoughts suddenly became visible to everyone! The chaos!

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi Lady Marilyn,
I couldn’t imagine everyone’s thoughts being on show, it would be chaos. πŸ˜€
If you are having trouble with IE which is common here at WP, you can download the firefox browser, it is free, and it is the browser I use when I am putting in a post, I don’t have any problems with it at all. I use IE the rest of time though. I also was having a lot of trouble with IE on WP, and that is how I got around it.

      • Thank you, Mags. I’ll look into it straight away.

        • I’m downloading it as we speak! Hope WP will be satisfied.

          • I’m using it now. WP messages have disappeared. However, it has replaced IE. Must have done something wrong. (sigh) Technology is not my thing.

          • magsx2 says:

No you haven’t done anything wrong. If you go off the net and click onto Internet Explorer, it will ask you if you would like IE as your default, just click yes, and you have IE back. Exactly the same will happen when you click onto firefox. So each time you would like to change your browser, you just have to go off the net. It does take a bit of getting used to. πŸ™‚

          • Thank Heaven for Mags! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I don’t like the way that the printing looks now. I was perfectly happy before. But WP kept telling me to update to a newer version of IE which I can’t do because I have Windows XP. WP kept telling me that soon, I would not be “supported” and would not receive any more “notifications” (of comments, presumably). So now, having been threatened by people I can’t even see, I have had to change my Browser and I don’t like the way that the characters look now. I don’t think this stuff was intended for elderly ladies.

          • magsx2 says:

Each blog looks different in different browsers, and there are a lot of different browses around. Some colours also look different, it is the way the browser reads the information, and each browser is unique. When you do a post with firefox it may seem different, but when you look at that post in IE it is how you are used to seeing it, nothing has changed in the IE browser. What we see with our browser, other people see something a bit different depending on what they are using to look at the blogs. πŸ™‚

          • Thank you again, Mags. I’m hopeless with this stuff.

  11. Windsmoke. says:

The first thing i thought of was oh no more gadgets to over load my brain. Although i can see it would be useful in certain work places :-).

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi Windsmoke,
It would also be fun to play around with too I imagine. πŸ™‚
Just think, no more mouse or keyboard to worry about, not having a keyboard would take a bit of getting use to I think. πŸ˜€

  12. Highly interesting, Mags! You amaze me everyday of your informative posts. Thanks for sharing, likewise, for all your hard works! = )

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi Aina,
It is amazing all the new technology that is coming out, and hard to keep up with as well. πŸ™‚
Thank You for your kind words.

      • = ) I know, they are all good and they enhance our productivity. The only thing though, some are too pricey. But I guess, if the end justifies the mean, well, by all means, lets do grab them, yeah? thanks for educating us. I really love your site = )

  13. reb says:

It’s quite awe inspiring! Would be easy to get used to that one, but I feel a little bit like the guy here above: I can’t keep up! All these electronic gadgets … I want them all, and I can’t justify it ..

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi reb,
It would be great to have all the new technology that is around, the problem is by the time you have chosen one a new bit of technology has again come out. πŸ˜€

  14. This impresses me and I’m not even a techie! Thanks Mags.

  15. susielindau says:

Does this mean that we can soon get rid of the remote????
    Thanks for sharing this. πŸ™‚

  16. aFrankAngle says:

You find the coolest stuff. Ok … fess up … what is your source on this one?

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi Frank,
Hmmm, should I fess up? Should I give out Trade secrets? What will happen if I do?
OK you twisted my arm, a few friends were talking about Leap Motion Sunday night, friends are always a good source for information. πŸ˜€
Just think if I hadn’t of got so sick, these friends may not of come over to see how I was going, and we may never have learned about Leap Motion, till way down the track. πŸ™‚

  17. paigeaddams says:

Wow, that is so cool! πŸ™‚ I’m generally bad with tech stuff, but I want one now, lol.

  18. Indira says:

It is wonderful, is it available everywhere.( India)

  19. Barb says:

Finally ! I Canby cool like Abby Shuto on NCIS

    • Barb says:

That’s ” can be”. I can’t wait until the invent a phone that stops spelling for you.

      • magsx2 says:

        Hi Barb,
That computer they show on NCIS is just fantastic, I love watching them use it. They have a better one on NCIS Los Angeles, that one is really cool. πŸ˜€

  20. tempo says:

Better, faster and improved…Didn’t they say that about touch screens Mags? Having used Touch Screens a great deal I can tell you they are a pain to use, give me the keyboard and mouse any day. This fad will turn out the same for the same reasons, people try it if they can afford it and the rest learn from their complaining that it’s not the new great thing after all.

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi tempo,
I couldn’t imagine waving by hands or arms around for hour on end that is for sure. But I think it would be great for certain businesses, especially if any drawing is involved I can see huge potential. The touch screen through is used in a lot of business now, nearly all the major supermarkets use touchscreen, it will be interesting to see where it goes from here. πŸ™‚

  21. viveka says:

Don’t like touch screens on anything … old school, but this I would consider – but I don’t know if my coordination is good – getting slower by the year. *smile

  22. OyiaBrown says:

    Reblogged this on OyiaBrown.

  23. Lenore Diane says:

Hi Mags – This newest gadget is certainly high on the cool scale. Amazing.
It also freaks me out a little. I don’t like to think of all the radiation that is swirling around the air – as wireless things become more and more commonplace. I know, I’m weird.

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi Lenore,
I agree very high on the cool side. πŸ˜€
I think there are a few people that do worry, I am still out on that one, there needs to be a lot more research done and less scare tactics I think.

  24. This makes my head spin! I don’t get it at all. I just know that my grandchildren will be laughing at me when I say, “When I had a mouse …”

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi AA,
I totally agree, there will be a time when the kids will ask what on earth a mouse was, just like it is hard for kids today to understand that we only ever had B and W TV, and no microwaves and of course the list goes on. πŸ™‚

  25. lolabees says:

Ooh, just think how many less germs we would spread! πŸ˜‰

  26. I will wait, but its potential in the gaming market seems really strong!

  27. Elyse says:

    Oh so cool! Thanks, Mags!

  28. Selma says:

Beyond amazing. Soon computers will be thought controlled at this rate. WOW!

  29. A big yes for me,i am bored of mouse, and this would give me much needed freedom of hand movement,,,,marvelous how day by day Science is making progress..wow

  30. starlaschat says:

Two words. No Way! ;lol; I got queezy just watching it although I supose maybe it could be fun maybe.

  31. I’m such an old dog. I would never switch systems if the ones I use didn’t become too obsolete to be compatible with the rest of the world.

  32. Wow is that ever so cool! Where will we go next?!

    • magsx2 says:

      Hi Michael,
I know it does make you wonder what sort of computers the next generation will be using, I’m sure it will be something that you or I could not even comprehend at this point in time. πŸ˜€
